The Bergerac Sec is not the best-known Bergerac "Appellations", the difference being that the Bergerac Blanc Sec production is not marginal (around 100000 hectolitres per year on the Appellation). It is a wine that is bit by bit wining its spurs. The Bergerac Sec makes a real effort to face up to heavy competition from other appellations and raises itself to meet higher standards.
